in. i want to wish everyone here a happy halloween. in case you hadn't noticed, tonight, i am dressed as a slutty talk show host. [ laughter ] i see a guy here in our audience who is dressed exactly like brooklyn borough president marty markowitz. [ cheers and applause ] he looks -- incredible costume. halloween is -- [ applause ] the one night of the year in brooklyn when you can't tell if someone is an ironic hipster or dressed up as an ironic hipster to be ironic. this is a great costume. if you are a parent of a young child, halloween is essentially over for you because it is impossible to get a babysitter. on halloween. but look at this. this guy did something ingenious. as you will see here as he gets closer to us, he has integrated his actual baby into his costume. he built a replica of the machine that sigourney weaver wore in the movie "alien." giant robot baby bjorn. you know what? there's a storm. people have time on their hands. this is what happens. we did something fun on the show for halloween last year. last halloween, i asked parents to play a trick on their kids. i a

with band-aids on our nipples. we have something fun for you tonight. on halloween night, i issued a youtube challenge. this is where i ask viewers to videotape themselves pulling a prank on their loved ones. and post it to youtube. well, last halloween, we got a great response when we asked parents to pretend they ate their children's halloween candy. that video has almost 34 million views now. so, we decided to do it again this year. over the past two days, parents have been uploading video titled "hey jimmy kimmel, i told my kid i ate all their halloween candy again." we got a lot of responses. we got a lot of responses. and we whittled them down and now, once again, i say in advance, sorry, kids. >> i have to tell you something. last night when you were in bed -- >> yeah. >> daddy and i ate all your candy. >> what? did you eat the suckers? >> yes. >> mom! >> okay, i have another confession to make. >> no -- you're going to make me cry again! no! >> i ate all of your candy. >> why? what are you doing? >> nothing. >> are you recording me? >> no. >> we ate all your halloween candy.

it's a story of people and a story of community, it really does start right there. last halloween, so we're talking on the eve of -- in the aftermath of fleet week, as it were, october is a really busy month for us here in san francisco. it starts off with fleet week and it ends with halloween so it's two cresendo events. last halloween diana who you see running around here, key to the organization, who does most of the logistics to make this happen, and i went to get dinner at a local establishment. it's called hays and kabob and we went to get dinner on our way to the operations center hoping nobody would celebrate too much so we could get out of there at a decent hour. when we went there, we were both in our black eem polos and we started talking to the owner and he said, oh, did you hear about the earthquake in turkey? well, we'd heard about it the way everybody heard about it, i think it got about two minutes on some of the cable news channels, and that was it. there wasn't a lot of coverage on the van earthquake. it just didn't hit the air waves that much. he said, oh, my fa

say because i am from washington and because it is halloween and because i have three children, all of them love to trick or treat our will report that the most popular costume that has come up lately is binders full of women. what this halloween costume looks like is you put your arms in the binder, it is not a jack in the box but jacqueline in the box and jacqueline pops out of a folder in the halloween costume. who said we were dull in washington? we are very creative. i am going to tell the story that inspired me to write my book. this began in 2009. the book is based on an atlantic story that came out in 2010 and basically i had been vacationing in a town for a long time which was a prosperous working-class town and one year i went there a bit seemed there are not many men are round. i was seeing him in church or the fair grounds or driving down the street ritter trucks doing construction. this was the height of the housing collapse that anita hill talked-about. men were finding a hard time. we talked about the man session and loss of manufacturing jobs and i became curious abo

over halloween. extravaganza, a spring festival in golden gate park and play day on the green, which last summer was a summer event that we hosted here at civic center. one final kudos were recognition before moving on to our -- this month's video. last night i had the great honor of attending at sunny side conservatory the outdoor educator's graduation ceremony. this is the first graduation ceremony for this program. it is a program that was convened by an organization called the foundation for youth investment. a partner of ours focused on getting kids outside. this is an indepth ten-week instructor training program for young urban adults who demonstrate high interest and aptitude for the outdoors. this focuses on competencies, leadership skills and pathways for a career in the outdoor education field. the first graduating class had eight graduates who completed six-month course where they end up with back country rescue training certificates and a number of different competencies, including ropes course facilitator training. wilderness first responder training. kayak training. env

and as you know we had a little extra activity around halloween and i thought that i would show the photos of the world series, and we are very proud of the giants and some of the players are basically right outside of the job. the budget remains consistent, with the budget, on the construction size. and with the release packages to date. as i said before, a little over 550 craft hours completed and running over 60 percent on the small business or local labor, i am sorry the bay area labor. and here is the break down, san francisco, continues to contribute about 20 percent of that and the other county surrounding the projects. and these are just a list of the trades. this is a body count of actual any craft's people that have worked on the project since the beginning, we are here with the multiple going on and we are steady. and this is the quality of workers and have logged hours to the project in those classifications. >> thank you. >> this concludes my report. >> the next item is public comment >> and now it is a chance for the public to address what is not on the calendar and ri
